No. The topic title isn't about what you guys might be thinking about when you aren't fishing, eating or watching a game.

Just curious. How often do you go fishing in a week, a month? I realize weather determines this depending on where we live plus other factors.

This site has users from all over the U.S. Give me your best guess. Could be some interesting stats.

I usually go 2 times, sometimes 3 every week. I go out with my bass fishin partner during the week . Maybe Mon, Tues or Wed. Then I go out on Sat with my other partner and fish salt water usually.

Thanks saw1. I'm going to try and keep a chart of the responses and share them on the site at some point. Will see what the average is and maybe get a feeling for how much we get to fish.

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, It varies quite a bit but while in So. TX. I usually go once, or sometimes twice a week but we will usually spend all day out there. That would be from Jan. - March. Back home in MN., March, April & May, I will go trout fishing at least four times a week but only about an hour or so, sometimes a little longer. I live right on a trout stream. June, July & August, I will make a couple of trips to Canada for a week and a couple of trips to Lake Mich. for a few days in order to fish walleye. Of course, I have the Miss. River to catch a walleye in whenever. Sept. & Oct. I'm back on the trout stream three or four times a week. Dec. & Jan., trout season is closed, the boat is in Winter storage mode, and I'm tying flies and building rods. So in answer to your question, I don't think 50 times a year would cover it but it would be close.

I prolly average twice a week except during the winter. I go on a week long trip in the spring and sometimes in the fall and fish 5-7 straight days on those trips. The rest of the summer I’ll go 1-2 times a week if the weather is decent. I try to plan my fishing by the “moon charts” whenever I can. I’ve found it does make at least some difference most of the time.

I forgot to say that when I go fishing, it is usually from daylight to dark except during the hottest part of summer when I stop for 2-3 hours at mid-day.

Thanks guys. I realize everyone has different weather, finances, health and family issues, work, etc. I still the results and comments may give us a good idea how often we wet a line or don't.

Not sure I'm that qualified saw. Just my analytical mind I guess. I've always been the curious type when it comes to people and how/why they do things. Used to work as a reporter many moons ago.

Like Randy, I usually fish for 8 hours when I go. So when I get up and when I'm putting the boat away it's quiet often from dawn to dusk. I don't like putting the boat and all my gear away in the dark.
