Welcome TeMo, tight lines and days with the grand kids. Life doesn't get any better. The only BS you will find here is of the jolly kind and good for a laugh. Thank you for your service. Lots of good info to be had here, but the more info you put in your questions the better your answers will be.
Welcome TeMo & thanks for your service I’m a nam get. When I was growing up on the farm I would go the local ponds only plug I had was a hula popper a long cane pole caught a lot of bass it hooked me on fishing kept me out of trouble. Tight Lines
Welcome to this site. I just browse and don't understand alot of stuff they talk about, but they sure catch alot of bass. Some of these guys are like teachers. They know everything about fishing. I'm behind the times also. Like to fish, but discouraged cause the fish seem to reject everything I cast to them. Beginning to think I need a good fishing guide to instruct me to what I'm doing wrong. But even though not catching fish, enjoy getting out for a little exercise & fresh air and also the scenery. I have lots of older fishing gear (around 20 fishing outfits) all are the old time bait caster & zebco spincast (nothing expensive). My daughter did buy me a combo outfit from Walmart. She paid around $100. for it & I never used it yet. It is a bait-caster but doesn't look like the baitcaster I started out with. Will be going fishing in spring-time. Just me - no grandchildren (just dogs & cats).
Hey temo thank u for ur service & welcome to fs, doesn't matter if u use a 40 yr old Johnson reel use what works for u.might b helpful to visit a local baitshop & pick their brain for a few minutes on lures and preferred rigs for ur area.get the grandkids out & have fun!!!

Hey TeMo, as to your original post, I remember all of those things you mentioned. You can't get Uncle Josh's Pork Rinds any more. Hope you decide to join in our group, haven't heard back from you on any of the welcomes you've gotten. Love to hear some of your stories. Ask questions, good luck and tight lines.
Welcome to fs , TeMp. First, thank you for your service.
I grew up using Johnson Citations and Centuries. Still have a couple of them too. I still use Zebcos . In fact my favorite reel is a Zebco Bullet. (I just don’t tell the fish)LOL
Hope you enjoy the forum.
Hi, i have all the lures you listed, still great bass catchers. I specifically use my old Mitchell spinning reels, they are just as good as the newer reels
