ghaynes. Thanks for the welcome. Got a lot to learn about Walleye fishing.

No problem Rich. You will learn from these folks. I walleye fished years ago. About 20 ft down on a sandbar with a minnow. Pretty basic stuff on a northern WI lake. Spent summers there as a kid with grandparents. Great time and good fishin'.

Egghead. Since the lakes are so far from home I usually take about 4-6 trips per year but when I do, I usually fish for 7-10 days each trip. The cost of fuel to pull my 5th wheel and boat is expensive so I cut down of the number of trips and stay longer. Being retired helps too.

For the most part - yes. Otherwise I go to see my kids and other family members a couple times a year but I don't fish when I do.

Hello Richard1947. This is very odd. My name is Richard & I was born in 1947. I've spent a lot of time hunting in new mexico for deer & bear. Had some great times hunting in the mountains overlooking Alamosa & in the
Jemez (pronounced hay mez) mountains north of Albuquerque. lot of trout fishing there & the state has a trout hatchery hid out back in the mountains. Great country. This is a great forum with some even better folks, but never tell them I said that. Don't be bashful, jump right in. Good luck, Richard, & tight lines.

I'm doing just fine Plumbob, physically. That knee replacement surgery & recovery is quite an ordeal but I did everything the dr ordered & tried to keep ahead of the exercise the therapist put me through. It's wonderful to walk again, pain free. Our pal Oz is slated to go for his surgery very soon & another member whose name escapes me is scheduled to have both knees done at the same time very soon. I would not want that but he's a marine & the're tough. I wish them both the speediest of recovery. All this rain has curtailed my fishing. I usually catch some nice winter catfish on jug lines but the boat ramps are underwater & that also cuts into my winter crappie fishing. The weather looks to be improving so life's getting better. Tight lines.
