Fishing Roddy Loc: Post Falls Idaho

Hello to all my fellow fisherman. My name is Rod and I live by Lake Coeur d' Alene in North Idaho. I'm a disabled Vietnam Vet with a spinal cord injury. Only by the Grace of God I'm able to walk and go fishing! I look forward to reading of all your fishing adventures, and hopefully get some tips to help me catch more fish. 🐟😀🐟

Welcome Roddy. I've got some friends that live up that way. Please add that location to your profile so you don't have to tell us each time you post. How's the fishing on Coeur d'lena?

Thank you for your service Rod, and welcome to FS! We are almost neighbors. Use to go through the area when I was driving truck. Beautiful area there.

Thank you for the welcome. I added my location.
The fishing is good for Kokanee and Chinook salmon
4 different kinds of trout, large and smallmouth bass, Crappie, Pike, Perch and Musky. The only problem is you need a boat to get to them, and I dont have a boat. Most of the docks are private and I have a hard time getting to the water. We just moved up here a little over a year ago and there's so many lakes and rivers I haven't been to yet.

Welcome Rod, and most importantly Thank You for your service!

There is a TU (Trout Unlimited) program called Project Healing Waters.
Perhaps it's worth looking into up there in Idaho.

God Bless.

Fishing Roddy. Welcome to the forum and fun and I also want to thank you for your service to our country. I always felt bad about the treatment the Vietnam Vets received upon their return for serving in a war they were not responsible for. For a long time many would not wear any clothing that would expose them to the venom of the idiots responsible for the horrible treatment they were subject to. Finally I saw many wearing their Vietnam hats, jackets and patches. I ALWAYS go out of my way to thank ALL Veterans for their service to our country. I spent 5 1/2 years of meetings and 6 months of active duty with the Army Reserve, served in 1960. I don't know why they called us 90 day wonders because we served 180 days and fortunately I was not called to fight for my country although I would have done so if necessary. I have successfully hunted elk and deer in the Yellowpine, Idaho area back in the late 60's, never saw any moose though and was not hunting them anyway. Good Fishing!
