You will have to teach him how to tie flies. Or, does he know already?
I haven't done fly tying with but he got his second lesson on rod building just before we made the cookies.

That's right up there with looking at the trail of vapor in the sky and saying look at those Russian Airplanes.
Yep they are rushing somewhere.
My daughters have picked up bass fishing from me and are always asking when to go next, they are in their mid and upper 20’s and still asking to go and for the “secret info” my sons in laws already know how to fish and just want to go with me, I have several secret spots and techniques for the times. They all just want to know to combat against me. I true fisherman doesn’t give all his secrets, especially for nothing less than a dollar.

Since I can't fish every day since I'll have from 1 to 5 grandkids in the afternoon I find some other things to keep everyone happy. Teaching my only grandson how to make cookies. Costs me a lot of fishing time but I still come out ahead. One day baking then a day of target practice with his bb gun. Fishing happens on the weekend.
Great picture Flytier. Good looking grandson. Memories that will last his lifetime.

All of my rod building equipment and fly tying equipment are going to my youngest of 6 grandsons He has the most interest in fishing or doing either of the two hobbies. The rest of them are too busy doing whatever. Maybe he will carry the tradition on. He is a junior in high school and would just as soon sit down and have a cup of coffee and talk fishing or wrestling as anything else.

They will watch you and think that building a rod is the easiest thing in the world to do until they try it.

Nice wasn't it
Yes it was. I got in 6 days straight of fishing and honestly a rest from paddling is welcomed.
