No offense intended. As to the "attic" reference, at least it isn't the basement.

Basements can be very good places.

Hello all, my name is Bill and I live in the Charlotte, NC metro area. I like bass fishing, just not as good at the catching part as I would like to be. I am currently biding my time until March 1st when the Monroe, NC municipal lakes open up again, Lake Twitty in particular. Anyone else fish there? If so I would like to chat. TIA.

Welcome to the Stage Bill. I know youโ€™ll enjoy it here. Just lay off the corny jokes. I used to love to bass fish. It was fun learning all the different tricks and baits to catch one like using a plastic Salamander when they are spawning because they know a Salamander will eat their eggs, and stuff like that.

I have a serious question for you guys, not a joke: this format reminds me of the old bulletin board style forums. Why do you prefer it over other ones that have more graphical interfaces where you can "like" on people's posts, etc. You know which one I am talking about.

Speaking for myself, this site has a large group of people participating who share the same passions and ideals that I have as well as high moral standards and open friendliness. And as a big PLUS, most seem to be God-Fearing yet very down to earth.

Because weโ€™re old and enjoy doing things the old way. If you like what someone said, just reply to them and tell them. Why come on an established site and want to change things? This isnโ€™t Facebook or Twitter, itโ€™s the FishingStage, where descent folks swap stories and show pictures, and are polite to one another. Got it?

Not trying to change anything, just asked why you prefer it. That is all.

My answer to that is; In a nutshell, we're all "old school" and we like it like this.
