I have accumulated a good amount of gear threw my 65 years of fishing and hunting. I have decided to dive into the piles of piles that have been stored through out my journey. As I decide what stays and goes, I remember so many different ways and so many types of fish. Will I ever use this again? I have a group near me that teach's kids how to fish, I plan on donating gear to help their efforts. As I wonder what method those kids might use, I also think "what is the best way to start fishing". Putting aside maintenance of rod, reel and line, I believe that a hook, bobber, sinker and propped weight, would be the greatest way for anyone to get started. With the proper set up, I believe you can catch any fish desired. Considering what is available in the area for that fish to feed on in what time of year, has netted more fish for me than most methods. Even the beast of that area. Reading Spoon Plugging by Buck Perry should be a must do. I know that getting new people in the great outdoors is the only way to preserve what I have loved. Teach gun safety and welcome New comers to the outdoors. Cherish the moments that you have in the rivers, lakes and streams. Never kill just to kill, use any thing you secure and love what you do. Coming from a Marine, father, grandfather and husband who has spent his life outside in an active lifestyle. God Bless Dan

Seems you have also managed to acquire a good amount of wisdom and knowledge along with the gear. Thanks Dan. God Bless you too!

Putting your old equipment to good use Dharvey3. I like that in a person. Your a good man.
I'm sure we will find or have found ourselves in that "look what I've accumulated over the years" situation.
It's always a fine idea to "give back" & donate to the new generation of fishing youth & beginners, nice job!
Just remember, "they don't put luggage racks on a Hearse" & to "Never let your wife sell your prized fishing gear for what you told her you paid for it"!

Great decision on your part to be able to propagate a new generation. I am sure that they will be very grateful for your generosity. Gordon you have made a very wise decision... Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and Happy 😃 New Year...<%{~~~<<
