Whether we went or not we were ALL affected. It is the least I can do. I am proud of every one of you. And VERY grateful.

Thanks Graywulff, that means a lot. So glad and thankful that you are able and there for some of those vets that served over there. Also, lets not forget the ones we have now and what some of them have gone through as well. I pray for them all. Especially during this holiday time. It can be really rough time of year for some. God bless.

I do too saw1. I do too. I have a son-in-law who was in Kuwait and a granddaughter who went to Afghanistan so I know.

Me as well. My daughter served a tour over in Iraq back in 03-04. What a trying time for us then.

Congratulations To both of you. We have have been married for 53 years (I think). We met in high school, I was one year ahead of her. When she graduated we got married. I give her 80% and me 20% for our being together all these years.

Thank you BB, and all of the other veterans for your service to our country. My dad, and most of my dads brothers served during WWII, a couple uncles during Korean War. I never served, my brother served in Vietnam, when I was graduating from high school, I talked to him about joining and he flatly told me, he would kick my rear end all over Lenoir County, if I did, because of the way Nam vets were being treated so I didn't but regretted it ever since. You all are my heroes!!

thank you bassman
but thanks are really not needed
this was a different country then
patriotism was rampant
the Japanese had attacked us and killed over 2ooo Americans
it was my patriotic duty to serve
I and untold young lads flocked to the recruiters willingly
