Well at least the sense of humor lives on through the injections.

I bet you remember when the doc's used to come to the house to give shots. I know I do.

From what I understand they make the vaccine for the type of flu that they believe is coming. One maybe two different strains.

I sympathize with all you folks who are 'under the weather' with this danged flu ! Back in January of '79, the 'ex' and I were both so sick that we could barely take
care of ourselves, much less
each other ! We both lost two weeks of work, although I went in on the second Friday feeling like crap so's not to lose ALL my sick days ! Fighting that particular flu must have strengthened my resistance considerably, as I have not had any type of flu for the
past forty years, nor ever any flu shots ! One other thing that I think has contributed was starting to eat more spicy foods like chili
and other dishes made with hot
peppers ! Supposedly, they are loaded with vitamin A and heavy
in antioxidants; also, if I'm not feeling 'right', I doctor up my chicken noodle soup ! I always
use two cans, but also cook and dice up at least half a chicken breast and add it and the broth to the soup; I like my soups meaty and hearty, so I also add a touch of cayenne pepper or chipotle powder to spice it up ! It helps to 'sweat' and/or drive the bug right out of you, not to mention leaving you feeling warm all over ! I think that between that really serious flu bout and my change of diet, that
my system has developed a much stronger resistance overall, accounting for the few minor episodes of colds rather than more serious ones or the flu for these many years !
