Morning everyone, how is everyone's morning thus far?? I hope everyone is blessed and highly favored.

Sickness. Flu season. Chest infections and the like. Uuhhhggggg. I got my flu shot a couple weeks ago, and Aurora got hers about a week later, last thursday... aurora was already slightly sick from the previous thursday, Thanksgiving day. My little nephew-in-law was really sick, and Aurora caught whatever that was two days later. Well, I felt ill for a couple days after my shot and it seems like Aurora got a little bit sick from the shot too (I was told it happens, and its building antibodies that's why we feel a tad sick sometimes).

Last night Trisha got really sick though, looks like full blown flu.. she hasn't gotten her flu shot yet. I'm wondering if we got the shot, and had a touch of the flu from the shot, do you think it's possible to pass flu to her, FROM the flu shot? If this could be the case, then we will start getting the shot together as a family at the same time (which we probably should have done in the first place).

Idk, but I really dislike being sick. Trish NEVER gets sick, well hardly ever.. she has an amazing immune system. So the fact that she got so sick, and the timing of it all, makes me wonder if the flu shot brought this on.. i was told that this is impossible due to the fact that the flu shot is a dead virus inoculation.. but I've also witnessed evidence in the contrary.

Has anyone else experienced any problems taking the flu shot?

Could be that you got the flu bug just before getting the shot and hadn't felt the effects of the flu yet.
But then again I'm not a doctor. LOL.
We get our shots every year and haven't been sick for years now.
Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon.

I've heard people speak in both directions, either get the flu shot and NEVER get sick from it.. or get the flu shot, get the flu. Just less hard and less complications happen after taking the shot. So I guess its half dozen one way, 50 the other.

Myself, I haven't had the flu in a very long time and I just recently started taking the flu shot. Up until sobriety and recovery I was sick all the time, or so it seemed. But the lifestyle I maintained cut my immune system significantly, I'm sure. Since I found recovery, however, I have not been really sick, and since I quit smoking I really dont get sick. It was beautiful lol.. I got saved and delivered and boom! No more sickness.

Until now. So, this is why I wanted to see if anyone else had issues with the shot, if it's worth it or not. I have to protect Aurora, I wanna make sure shes good.. but idk if I myself want the shot again. I just dont know.

Hey Denny, sorry to read that you all are continuing to not feel well. Massive doses of chicken soup and Orange juice are my go to's when it gets that bad.

And you can put me on the list to never ever get the flu shot. Two years in a row got the shot followed with antibiotics, steroids, and inhalers to relieve what amounts to COPD symptoms. Darn shot activated something in me that was worse than having the flu.

I've heard witness after witness of the same complaint. People are either not affected at all, or get really sick because of it... sounds like Russian roulette to me..

Hey thanks Larry..

Kinda cracks me up tho.. "The flu shot won't give you the flu" you just feel like you got the flu... sounds like it gives you the flu! Lmbo..

All jokes aside, thanks for the info.. I think it's probably all mental for me, as I believe a person can literally "think" themselves sick. The mind is a very powerful thing.

Our own bodies are testimony to everything we do to it. Let your own experiences guide your life. Allergies are different in everyone.

bb I will be more than happy to submit your name for each time Doctor Quack ask me if I want the shot. Right there in bold print under allergies is my request not to administer a flu shot.

I can only hope they read the chart where it says DNR.
