I think you and my wife would be a match. The last "overniter" was2 suitcases and another smaller bag.
Do yourself a favor and KISS.
I use a regular backpack with 3 compartments. 1 for a stanley stackable tool box that I use for lures. I usually keep 2 of every lure I will be using in that box. In the smallest compartment I keep weights. In the middle compartment I keep a Plano box with assorted hooks. That's where I also keep pliers, pencil sharpener, knife, emergency rain pancho, and stringer. In case you don't know what a pencil sharpener is used for, you find sticks that will fit in it and use the shavings as kindling. Since they are extremely thin, they catch fire easy even when they are wet or green. Great way to get a fire going in case of emergency
perhaps an upside down hot air balloon, oh, nevermind
I use a hiking backpack. It has lots of compartments and usually they have a set of straps that you attach around the waist to ease the pressure from your back. Also, tactical bags work wonders for fishing. I will get you some links to show you what I am talking about.
These two are really nice and cheaper than most.
I’m a little off the wall I guess. I bought an xtra truck to store and haul tackle and stuff. Not an expensive ride either. Lake to lake, unload what ya need and proceed. Not smart just lazy. Hey, works for me and my handler👩🏼🦰
Plano makes a nice kaki color#3600 just as you are describing 5 trays side pockets for tools. My wife got it at Bass pro for christmas ( not suppose to know ).
I guess you need a little larger one then I described. sorry !
Hope you have a great christmas..
