Good morning/afternoon!! Man o man, yesterday was a fun one. My daughter was on one all..day..long. my wife and I couldn't put together two solid minutes of peace until we got her down for bed, and by then we were so spent that we just said our gnights and retired. I'm just now getting back to the boards.

"Counting blessings" is all I can do sometimes, and is a daily thing in the morning in the form of gratitude prayer to start the day off on the good foot of things...this was very good advice and I thank you.

About therapy, I'm actually at the V.A. mental health lobby as I type lol. I'm here for group right now, but i go to 3 groups a week for addiction and ptsd treatment, and I have separate therapists for each thing, one who provides treatment for substance use disorders and cognitive behavioral therapy.. the other one is my ptsd/trama therapist.

I have all kinds of "textbook" advice and my therapy is probably the reason I can actually see what my issues are instead of being naive to them and just kinda spiralling out of control because by then it's just too late and a very hard battle back to stability...

I was just trying to find out what my peers and those I respect had to say about the subject... I think that's how wisdom is built and attained...by failings and others input.

Sounds like you are on the right track Denny. About all I can say is hang in there, you're doing a great job. Any time you want to talk about it or feel like you need some advice - you got a group of people here who are on your side and are will listen.

If you don’t forgive yourself first then it’s all but impossible to forgive others, the fact that your conscience is still haunting you is evidence that you are truly aware and sorry. Find a way to let it go whether through therapy or cutting ties, but until you find a way it will always have its hooks in you...
