North East logger
Hello all. New to the site old to most everything else.
Very nice. Recent catch? Welcome to the site. I try to stay young like you on the other side of the country, I'm in California.
Welcome to the fourm chumley nice bass you have there where did you catch it.
That's one hell of a bass,
Chumley ! I'm guessing at least 8 lbs. ! Where're you at, and where'd thet bass come from ?

Loc: Lake Onalaska, Sunfish Capitol of the World!
Well,,,,,,,,,, Welcome to the Forum, Chumley. Did you run over that big fella with a truck? I don't see a rod near you.
8 lbs. Cought thru the ice on a lake in Freedom NH a couple of years ago.
Welcome to the forum C.
Musta been a big hole.
Nice bass.
Yup at the time I had an 8 inch auger but since got a 10 so I can fit my bait traps thru the hole.
Yo ! Former N.H. native here ! Did that lake happen to be Ossipee or Loon by any chance ? Fished your area a few times when I was a young 'un ; Ossipee Lake, Tamworth River, the Saco and Ellis rivers ! So my guess of 8 lbs. was right ! Glad to see I haven"t lost it over these many years ! Incidentally, I'm from Manchester originally, so trips to your area were few and far between ! Loved the area, though, and tried to get up there as often as I could ! Do you live near there, or did you just happen to be fishing that area ?
You r right again loon lake. I live in Ossipee.
You r right again loon lake. I live in Ossipee.
Chumley,
I was going to guess Lake Ossipee. I have fished there. You almost caught a state record as NH is 10.8 lbs for a Largemouth Bass. Nice fish. Hope you were able to catch and release? Where I live in Mass. the state record is 15.8.
I did catch a larger one in Sargent's pond in tuftenboro but released it without a picture.
Layer up, my friend ! Looks like you may be in for a chill winter ! Two of the worst I can remember were the winters of '92/'93 and again in '03/'04; they were two of the coldest, snowiest winters I can remember ! It was so cold in Jan. of '04, that I remember walking out of the house and
seeing a dog stuck to a tree ! Damn near suffered the same fate as a kid when I had to 'go' while playing outside in January ! Not to disparage my home state, which I still love, but those winters are the main reason I am now in Arizona !
If I ever get the urge to see/feel snow, ice, and frigid air, I can drive about two-and-a-half hours north to Flagstaff; they get all of that, especially in the shadow of a 12,000-ft. peak ! (Not likely to happen; only go there in the summer to fish and escape the 'Valley' heat !)
Yup yup I just try to use it all to my advantage
