Santa Ana River lakes is a scam if you ask me, everytime I have gone I got skunked and even the day they supposedly stick the lake, I have seen the stocking video they posted in YouTube look as if it’s a sunny day when in reality it’s overcast outside so I think they have multiple videos they just repost. And as for The corona lake that one is closed. Irvine lake did stock it few weeks ago not sure how many are left since a people go there to fish. But most of all the lakes in Orange County get stocked with trout this time of year as well as el dorado park in Long Beach just in the outskirts of Orange County.

I’m no fishing expert but my advice for freshwater fishing if you are doing a bait and wait technique is live nightcrawlers. Where I am from on the west coast all species of fish seem to love live worms. I have even heard a lot of stories of fish in the ocean loving them as well.

Hi. I am from Southern California and I love to fish. Been fishing since a kid ever since my grandfather started taking me on 1/2 day and 3/4 day charter boats out of Long Beach and Seal Beach California. I enjoy freshwater fishing just as much as saltwater fishing. I like the variety of fish you can catch in the ocean but i also love the challenge of catching bass in lakes. Only a few good lakes to fish in Southern California mostly just regional parks with little stocked lakes/large ponds that are highly pressured. I am looking forward to learning more about fishing on the forum.
