My names is Sherry!
I live in No Cal and have been fishing since I was about 9-10. I started when we lived on a lake in Missouri. Then moved to No Cal when I was 17-18. My first husband and I use to fish up on The Truckee river when my parents had a cabin on the river. We also fished Lake Tahoe and Becca reservoir for chinook. Then I got remarried to someone that was in a horrible motorcycle accident. It put him in a wheelchair for months. I became his caretaker. I new he needed to get out of his slump. He was sitting around drinking to much beer doing nothing. I new he had a ski boat and some fishing poles. I asked him to help me hook up his boat. He asked why and I told him we were going fishing. I had never pulled a boat or dropped one. We eventually got bold and ended up taking his ski boat out in Half moon bay. Caught our limit by noon. The mistake I made was I thought that all fishing days would be that easy! Lol
The rest is history

Hi!
I also like fishing and I am a women. I have liked fishing since I was about 10. However, I never fished with the “Big Boy” until I moved to California. If I have a choice of what kind of fishing I love it would be Steelhead fishing. It is so exciting. I am a catch and release girl though. My husband is over the top addicted to fishing. He has a Grady up in Bodega and an aluminum boat that he goes out in up in Mendocino for Abalone, Salmon, crabbing and any other fish in season. That is allot of work that I haven’t done for a couple years. However, I have done it all starting with me being “The Winch” for crabbing. Now that probably is one of the hardest jobs I have ever done. The first time we tried that and I had to pull those pots by my self. And we only got 12 crabs. Really! How much do we need? I think back now and that was plenty. I don’t eat allot of fish and as I said before I like catch and release. That doesn’t happen when they go out. We use to go out in the SF Bay and fish for Halibut, but the Halibut are few and far between now and I don’t really trust eating them from the bay. I have fished with my husband for over 20 plus years. Yes! It does get boring at times. And if we aren’t catching I have said it must be the bait and thrown it overboard. Lol! That didn’t go well.
I use to give my husband a bad time when they would come home on there salmon trips if the salmon were smaller than 10-12 pounds. This was over 10 years ago when the fishing was good. The fishing isn’t like that anymore. With that being said, I am simply saying it would be nice if we would just fish for what we are going to eat that night. It’s just what I wish not what happens. Now that I have put my thoughts out there Please don’t hate me! I love nature and want it to thrive for years to come.....
I look forward to it being a Great year for Steelhead. I hope we can get up to Smith river. That’s my favorite fishing!
My Dream (bucket List) has been for over 20 years to fish “The Bisbee.”
