Went to Lahontan last week. A couple of bites but nothing to show from it. As near as I could tell I was at fishermans point. A lot of rises and jumps across the water and a lot of carp. There was algae but not a huge build up. It was green as opposed to blue green. From there I drove up to Squaw valley reservoir. It was a long drive for nothing as the gate and access were restricted. Too bad, it looked really good.
you might be able to find some in the Fort Churchill cooling ponds on the way to Yerington. There are white bass in Lahanton res., but because of mercury you shouldn't eat them. Washoe lake has wipers (white bass/stripers) but I've never caught any. The area near the sand dunes is the deepest at around 17 feet.
access into Bailey pond at Fuji park is through the middle of the rodeo grounds. Take the road to Costco to the side of the events building at the rodeo grounds. It is gravel, take it past the buildings and signs will show you where to go.
Hi new to the forum. I haven't done a lot of fishing around here so trying to figure it out. Especially with kids! Need to do some exploring on my own. I have fished all over. Love fishing in Alaska for Salmon. Done some trout fishing at Blue Lakes. Big game in Hawaii and Mexico and Fiji. Fly in Sun Valley. Grew up in So Cal near the beach and used to fish in the harbor near my house and Catalina.
Any advice for around Minden and Carson City? I have the free NV permits for the kids. So don't want to head to CA. Might check out Fuji Park for easy. lol. Thanks!

Fuji would be a good place with the kids. It get stocked regularly and there are trout and Small mouth bass. The smallies I have seen are very small, only about 3-4 inch, The trout are typical planters around 10 inch. easy access around the pond.
