Back to the race a week later. Conditions were manageable for a small boat.(18'). My brother was down from Maine joining me.We caught bluefish only,however we saw some stripers netted on the party boats. Most looked like barely slot size. Blues were 26 to 30" and were coughing up gobs of 3-4" sand eels.Took a couple fillets home for the grill.We used diamond jigs and jig and pig on a 3 way. Didn't try the fluke. Congrats to GreenFrog on the new state record.Wow!

I'm new here my 1st outing of the 23 season went to the race got a nice striper and a blue on a diamond jig but the standing waves were a little large for my taste (and my boat).tried the fluke for a couple hours couple of shorts and that was it. I'll try to include pics next time.
