My experience is if the bluegill or good size they taste just as good as crappie.
This is the first that I have heard of Montrose lake. It looks like it would be nice. Do you know how many acres it is? My wife and I are planning to head to Truman lake in a few weeks for the first time I understand there is good crappie there.
I can tell you that on the fourth and fifth of May they were not biting, we did catch quite a few bass.
