I haven't been out for a while. wondering if anyone been out for Red Grouper. If so, what dept and how's the bite.
Looking forward to the Red Snapper season opening up on the 16th.

Things have changed since you fished for Flounder. I would pick one up grouper fishing but in the least 5 years haven't even saw one. A friend drifted south of Stump Pass all the way and never picked up one. Nice pictures.

Things are looking good for the American Red Snapper season this year. Season opens on June 16 to July 31st.

Red Grouper and lane, mangrove and vermillion snappers are the main target now.

Good day. I go out of the Venice jetty. Our last trip went to 135 ft and limit out on RG. Also got 5 large ARS. yes, all were released. Waiting for the season to open in June.

I live in Nokomis FL. That's near Venice FL. I have a 30 ft. boat with twin engines. I help run a club "The Venice fl. fishing club." I out on the water whenever the weather lets me. My last trip there was four of us and we limit out on red grouper (8), snapper and trigger fish were in the cooler also. To get in deep water in the gulf we had to go 45 miles. and that's only 149 ft. Yes, the gulf is shallow. Any other Gulf fisherman out there?

On April 20 we will be proud to have Capt. Brian Frazer for our speaker. Not only does he run his fishing charters, but he also owns and runs the Nokomis Beach Bait and Tackle. Our club is a private club with its own Facebook Page. We meet from 6:00 to 8:00 pm every third Thursday of the month at the South Venice Yacht Club at 4425 Yacht Club Rd., Venice, FL 34293.
