Yeah, that’s why I don’t use them a lot especially when trolling with 3 planner boards out on each side. My go to crank is the Bandit but this early in the year you will have better luck jigging. Not my thing but seems to work for the early birds. You may want to consider the Precision Trolling app. It tells you the feet of line out needed to obtain a specific depth for every conceivable lure. The Bible for trolling for Walleye.

Reef Runners are famous for running off track. Tune them. YouTube has a lot of videos that tell you how.
