When I fry fish it's 3 seasonings black pepper, onion powder and seasoned salt, I use a combination of bread crumbs and corn meal, sometimes I make a egg and milk wash
That's seabass and flounder season in the Delaware bay. I think the new striper laws say no go on them. Not sure if you can find much better than that unless you get on those 24hr canyon fishing trips
I saw plenty of 19 to 23in seatrout come deck. Lots of 14 to 20in blues. Some kingfish in the 14in range. Lots of sharks too big to bring in the boat
TJR charter out of Sundog Marina near Fortescue NJ does awesome 4 or 5 person charter in the summer months. I use him 5 to 8 times a year between July and October. Bottom fishing only for seatrout, blues, kingfish, spots and Croakers. (609) 501-9349 Capt Bruce. I have had some of the most inexperienced fisherman on the boat and Capt Bruce taught them how to fish by midday. Oh it's always fun for kids to catch sharks and it always seems to be a few 3to4ft brown sharks in the water
I'm in Pa and got jigs from Jerry before
Do you catch many crappie in that marina?
Google search bait and tackle shop near me. Start calling around. They normally have the inside track on what's biting where
What kind of structure and what depth are you fishing? I'm in South East Pa so wondering if I can find the same scenario down here
Send a private message to Andy in federlburg. He knows the winter crappie structure to look for in Maryland
Congratulations to your family Andy. You definitely have some strong genes. That definitely looks like the guy in the picture in Herbs tackle shop from some years back
Sounds like it's time for Andy to start yellow perch and crappie fishing until spring
Np also we normally catch ours in 15 to 20ft of water and it's very common for walleye to chase jigs into seeing distance and see them strike. Of course the water has to be very clear for that but getting bites 10ft from the bank and closer happens quite often
I don't know about that far north but down here in South East Pa last week of October or 1st week of November the thermocline disappears from lakes and walleye are easy to find on rock structure
Thanks for the info Andy. Trying to find 1 last good catfish spot before my deer hunting kicks in
I think that has a lot to do with the lack of salt in the bay these days. I'm 50 now and when I was teenager we caught blues for years as far north as Still Pond MD. I'm thinking about heading down to Federalsburgh marina soon for catfish. Do you think they still there Andy?
