When we were on them earlier in the week we found them about a half mile off shore so that’s what I was basing that on.
Salmon are largely still off shore, but if I had to guess I would expect them upstream in 2-3 weeks.
Hi Lawrence, I live just 3 miles from the rogue but I’m not sure about where good access for waders is. I took my dog for an exploration hike at the rogue river park in Belmont. There are s few likely shore fishing locations that I thought I might try and there’s a spot on the far side of the river that looks even better but it’s a bit of a hike from the road. But I’m game any time you want to check it out
Looking for fishing buddies. I live in the triangle between Sparta, Rockford and cedar springs. Retired, open to travel regionally. I’m married but a solo fisherman. Would love to do charters but can’t afford to pay for a day alone so if I could find a couple of people to split the cost. Also even fishing the rivers alone is risky (according to the wife.)
All great suggestions, thanks all.
I’ve recently started fishing for steelhead, so I went and bought my first waders. My question is, what do you guys wear under your waders? Is warmth your main concern? Do you wear shoes or boots inside of your waders? Jeans? Sweats? Thermals? Any advice is appreciated
Thanks for the tip, have you ever fished the area now called rogue river park? There is a small rest area off the bike trail and I was going to park there and scout the area
It’s been many years since I’ve gone smelting, but I would never have thought of using hook and line. Nice results, enjoy.
I live north of Grand Rapids Mi
Looking for some insight on good places to try for steelhead.
