Braid to various mono depending on what I'm doing. I've done 10 to 8 fishing Flukes. I've doubled both in laydowns and around snags etc. My biggest challenge was getting the two types of line connected effectively. Look up and run through the FG Knot. It's an effective way to join the two together and effective to drive you bonkers until you get it right. It's worth putting in the time. Look into it for the pros and cons...
Well...you stinker...no really, that's a goodun ...had to be a ball on your end of that rod! Keep catching and posting, it's inspiring!
Well it's 5:30 and off I go to Carters Lake....Sept.29/30 everything looks good.... hope the fish are as active as can be...
Man that does rate high on the curiosity meter. It'd be so easy to "speculate" or swag about those. Don't know what swag means? Scientific Wild As$ Guess...but really, does anyone have information on this?
Yeah, that ramp requires a pitstop when done for the day. It's got fantastic looking waters, I just ain't figured them out. At least it give me reason to keep going back, like today...in a few minutes.. I'm gone...
Being such a deep body of water, it's tough to find a bite. Now that is coming from someone who has only a kayak to get around. Which boat launch would put me in a more advantageous position to better locations. I've paddled from Ridgeway to the island before. Lots of paddling and not much fishing. I believe too that just gaining confidence in fishing deeper than I'm used to is a factor also.
I can remember using an acetylene fired headlamp while spelunking... temperamental yet functional....
I haven't made it to the lake yet,bad kayak, just curious about what I'm missing...
Just joined, haven't hit the water yet in 2023. Usually been a bunch by now but kayak has a leak. Got to get it going before I get left behind, because I know it's about to get good on Carters Lake. Looking forward to hearing all y'alls lies and BS, who caught the biggest on lightest line, longest cast and all the important stuff that makes going fishing the adventure it is....so lets hit it...
