Nice, still in deep water sounds like, water temperature probably gradually going down hasn't been that cold yet, no freeze. How deep were the fish holding ,were they suspended?

Being you'll be there in October,I'm thinking the Walleye might be coming out of deep water and back to the areas that they will spawn in the spring. A good area to probably fish would be the Sylvan Beach area. The canal is in that area and the fish would go up the canal to spawn in the spring. Preferred technique would be bottom bouncers and or leadcore line trolled with worm spinner rigs. Boat launch at Snuggs Harbor is right there and a $10 fee.

Not really the reason I come to this lake is to fish for Walleye! Have caught bass and other species while trolling for the targeted fish Walleye.

Fish Creek campsite not actually open for season but you can camp in there but no showers available. I recommend staying in Tupper Lake at a motel then traveling to Fish Creek up 30. You may find a canoe rental in Tupper but I don't know of any. Numerous ponds available in that area, but plan on black fly hatches they can drive most people crazy for about 3 weeks, bring a head net, good luck.

No pictures we hiked in nearly 3 miles to the pond, didn't bring the phone. The 2 19" bookies were males and had beautiful colors almost fall spawn color and had nice hook jaws. Yes the brook trout are a beautiful trout specimen.

Recently did a day trip into the Adirondacks about 5 or 7 days after ice out. Fished on Thursday 4/20 new moon phase and the brook trout were cooperating! My fishing partner and I boated 8 total trout with 2 at 19" so it was a good day to be on the water in the big woods.

Try camping at Fish Creek Ponds campsite ! There is ponds within in the campsite you can fish and other opportunities in the area around the campsite. Some ponds are a short distance from Route 30. Target brooktrout that time of year. Late April early May.

Hi everyone, I love to fish and especially ice fishing. With the weather being on again off again, I was wondering if anyone had any ice thicknesses to report--I spend most of my time on Sacandaga and wouldn't mind a bit of a travel if it resulted in bringing home the fish.
Sir: rode around the Sacandaga Broadalbin side over the Bacthlerville bridge actually seen open water in the channel and also didn't see one shanty on the ice and it is glare ice no snow on it. I have never seen it like this at this point of winter. I would say smaller bodies of water are what you should seek out. Goodluck!
