Welcome Crazy. Ice is finally out in my area (Framingham area) and with a mild weekend I think I will try my luck.

When I was working I used to go regularly to plum island to fish off the jetty after work. A few of us went and we always had a good time catching blues and strippers.

Southborough is next to Framingham. I don’t get up to Portsmouth but thanks for the offer.
I do most of my fishing in the reservoirs locally which have bass, perch and pike.
Never now what you will get.

I hope someone in the area sees your invitation. A little too far west for me to accept. Happy New Year 🎆

Hopefully there will be some ice. We didn't have safe ice in the area last winter.

Was going to try ice fishing with my grandson last year, but we never got safe ice here.

The rain could be the cause. I fish a reservoir and it has been hit or miss all year which could be the effect of water being released at the dam. I was fishing on warm day last week and it was pretty good a large perch and small bass while I was there. Getting cold now so I will have to wait for a mild day before I go again.

No experience fishing there. Was this situation all year?

Great news to hear. The fish are still active as the weather turns colder.

The best advice can be had by stopping into Surfland for the latest info on what they are hitting on.
I always liked my fluorescent Orange popper while fishing from the jetty.

My friend who fishes there all the time says mid to end of May is when they usually appear. He also said fishing the outgoing tide is best. Hope this helps.

Welcome Spike. I haven't had much success at Hopkinton. But I heard they stocked it with trout so there should be something around. Check with Lunkers downtown Ashland for advice.

Salty Pig, Thanks for the report. I haven’t been to Lake Chauncy this year. I will definitely visit there soon. We (my grandson and I) have been fishing the reservoir in Southborough and having good luck there.

Well yesterday was a first. I was trying to free a lure that snagged on something in the water and as I moved along the bank, the ground gave way just enough so I lost my balance and down I went right into to water. All I could think of if my grandson was here he would have pee’d his pants laughing see me have in the water. Well I got up and was only half wet so I continued fishing since it was a sunny mild day. Like I said that was a first….and hopefully last time for that.😂
