Hope your mom is still doing good, she's still in our prayers and thoughts πŸ™ Chuck and Kay πŸ™

Thanks Chuck. She's doin OK for the most part. She has COPD and has trouble gettin her breath, even though she's suppose to be on oxygen 24-7 its hard for her to breathe most of the time.
Other than that, she's hanging in there and doin pretty good.
I really appreciate the prayers too, thanks. πŸ‘πŸ™

As you all know I caught some nice Trout yesterday. I made a mess of filliting the big one and just gutted and cut the heads off the rest. They were too big to fit in a pan without it, but would go on a grill just great.
ANNYWAY, I took all the guts, heads and skin and bones out to this stump bout 70 yards out in the forest back of my house.
I walk down the bear trail a ways and then go bout 40 yards off the trail to this big stump .
I put all the pile on that stump and left it ovetnight.
Today I went to check on it and there wasn't a single scrap of anything left there. They must have even licked the stump.πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚πŸ‘
Just thought some of you would like to know.
I have a pretty good relationship with them.
They stay outta my house and I leave them alone. Even feed them from time to time.
Haven't seen one this year yet. But I still have all my bear boards down.πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ€

Super nice fish! Those will fill up a smoker. Thanks for sharing buddy.

Yeah, I shoulda done that instead of tryin to fillet the big one. What a disaster. A nice fish like that deserved better than what I did.
I'll never try to fillet another Trout. πŸ˜₯πŸ‘Ž

Well guys, I posted the snow banks pics from around the house when I got up here Tuesday.
The one in the front yard finally melted this evenin, May 2nd. However, the ones on the side of the house and behind the garage are still there. They're in the shade so they'll be here for awhile longer.
Leavin in the mornin for Windsor. It'll be good to get back home and a little warmer weather.
Plus, maybe Ben and I can get out to the Napa for some Stripers.
Been over 3 weeks since I've been out.

Well it is back to reality today. After the great outing with Tyler on Monday was fired up to give DVL a try. Got to the lake early and it was fairly dense fog and cold until about 10:30. Throw in the algae bloom starting and moss on your hook about 75% of the time, not an ideal day. Managed 10 fish and all were small. Biggest, maybe 1 1/2 lb. Looks like I will be heading back to Skinner or maybe another outing at SanV.

Hmmm, just doesn't look like SHORTS weather to me. Just Sayin.
Like yesterday mornin here. It was bout 26* on the front porch bout 0800. I decided to wait a couple hours before I went out to the river.

Thanks for all the nice remarks. Trout fishin the streams and rivers was my first love and it's always nice to get back to that when I'm in Tahoe. I've missed it the last couple years.
As usual, I was driftin worms.
I found a brand new jar of salmon eggs in the edge of one of the holes I was fishin. Somebody probly dropped it when the water was higher and they couldn't get them. Now that the water has dropped some they were in about a foot of water a couple feet from shore. I just thought it was trash in the river and was gonna get it out. Nice surprise !

Had a blast fishing with my son Zack. On the water at Blue Marsh Lake from 9 AM to 1 PM. Used nightcrawlers, rattletraps and hard-bait crayfish, the nightcrawlers were the hot bait. Caught a bunch of carp all around 20"s. Also, showing the new tow rig, moved up to a Tundra i-Force 3.4 liter Twin-Turbo V6 producing 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, pulls my boat like it’s not even there. Looking forward to the next fishing trip.

Hi folks.
I just read a tribute to Pete Seeger in a musicians magazine ALLEGRO. With the recent discussion about this topic , if you are interested...Pete wrote the song and The Byrds made it famous.

Yep, tomorrow, May 3rd, is his birthday. He was born in 1919, he would have been 105.

I was in the main body from skiers cove down into the narrows a little then north up to big island. It really varied on depth. I kept chasing marks on the graph. But I would say between 25 and 38’ using proll troll 8” flasher and hoochies or wiggle hoochies. Hope that helps

Hey guys went out fishin today. Little cold to start but it warmed up to be a pretty day.
Started off in the West Fork Carson but didn't have any luck. Caught 1 little native rainbow bout 7 inches long and released it. I tried several of the usual spots but couldn't find any fish.
Decided to just go on over to the East Fork on the other side of Markleeville.
First hole I tried I hooked into a nice one, The river flow was goin pretty good but runnin clear and not TOO high.
I fought it for maybe 5 or 6 min and then was able to get it on shore. Was about 18 inches and 2 1/2 pounds.
I rebaited and retied the hook, good thing cause I broke the hook gettin it out.
About 15 min after I landed the first one I was back in the water.
It took me a few min to get another bite but it was a HEAVY fish and it was stayin out in the fast water and was deep.
It took me bout 15 to 20 min to land it and I really didn't think my 6# line was goin to hold pullin it up on shore, but it did. It was 25 inches and bout 5 pounds. Looked the size of a small salmon or decent steelhead.
Fished there a little more but only got 1 more bite and it wouldn't bite again.
Moved on to a few other holes and only had another small native hit but it came off so I left. Didn't want to catch it and possible have it die so I went to another couple holes.
The last hole is the hole I wanted to start at but a survey crew was workin there so I didn't stop.
They were still there when I came back through but I stopped anyway and pulled 2 more fish out of that hole. One was just a decent keeper but the other one was bout 17+ inches and bout 2 pounds.
I had to pull them up through a whitewater shute to get them to me and I really didn't think the big one was gonna stay on but it did.
I decided to call it a day after that. I didn't need to try for a 5th one. Those 4 were plenty.
I tried to fillet the big 25 incher and it was nearly a total disaster.
Was nothin like the Stripers I fillet all the time.
I decided that I wouldn't do that again.
I wanted to take some pics of all the snow still on the mountains and of the river, BUT, I left my ph at the house so no pics till I got home.

Went carping in 70 degree Carnegie Lake this evening during a sunny, cool nor’easter. Threw out a can of corn 🌽 for chum, then caught a 6 lb common carp on my first cast for this year. Then caught a 14 lb common carp on my second cast. After catching a white sucker, I landed a 10 lb common carp on my last cast. As I walked to my car with my rods and bucket πŸͺ£, a young woman went to my fishing 🎣 spot, knocked over my bucket of fish 🐠, then tried to kick the fish back into the lake. I returned before she was successful. NJ people suck. I gave the four fish to Wendy’s. A fisherman from Virginia netted my two biggest fish. I used my last can of whole kernel corn 🌽 from last year.

What did she say to you when you came back before she got the fish back in the water?
I can't print what I would have said to her.πŸ˜ πŸ€ πŸ‘
