I grew up a few roads north of that nabor hood on big pine my father was a commercial fishermen back in Cohen's subdivision near the end of key deer Boulevard my grandparents owned Parmer's place motel on little Torch Key from the late 50's till 97ish. Definitely sounds like it's still no markers or it marked with pic pipe and various tipe of Mangrove Islands that you run towards for so long only the locals that's grown up there know about the secrets to getting out from a neighborhood like yours by water is getting on plain fast run wide open don't stop for nothing and the biggest set of trim tabs you can afford bigger the better run them all the way down the idea is the tabs will push the stern of the boat up and you draw that much less water and like this hauling ass on plane and you don't slow down till your out in the deep channel. My grandfather would come in on low tide from the backcountry/finger channels (gulfside) with a 23 seacraft after dark and never ran a ground or even bump bottom back to the motel It's done that way by many locals for Generations now
