I live in San Jose and I will be going to Almanor next week for several days. I would appreciate it very much if you would be kind enough to share what exactly you were using on your down rigger (if using an attactor which one; what type lure/spinner/ bait/etc.)

Thanks for the fast reply. I live in Almaden (south San Jose). I was thinking about towing a trailer to leave up there at a friend's house, which would mean I couldn't bring my boat. Were people catching fish from the bank? If not I guess I'll tow my boat up instead of my a trailer.

I would never impose on someone's fishing trip. I honestly would just like to know where you were fishing. I went fishing at Iron Canyon Reservoir, northwest of Burney 10 days ago. The fishing there had been GREAT until PG&E lowered the reservoir level 15 to 20 feet over the weekend. I got there the next day (Monday) and the bite was dead. I will go back to the Burney area and try again if you would be willing to share where you were catching fish.
