Slow day yesterday with the yak. Only caught 4 but one was a guage buster so I can't be too disappointed...

Fishing along the channel at Doran?
Saw a bunch of yakkers over in Tomales bsy today. Kind of windy and rainy, but they all looked like they were prepared for the elements.

I was about 1/4 mile outside the jetty... tons of kayakers and more boats flying by. Gotta always be aware of the boats because there wakes could flip you

Decided to try for Dungies and Halibut from my Kayak at Bodega Bay. Got on the water around 9am and out around 3:30pm. Caught 2 keeper Dungies at 6" and 6.25". Many many crabs but undersized. Trolled for halibut maybe 2 hours total while soaking the hoop nets. No Halibut and didn't see anyone pulling anything up who were fishing

Nice, JS2, thanks for the tip--good to know they're inexpensive; expected them to be much higher. Does it stabilize your yak enough that you can comfortably stand?

DCGravity, Yes you can stand. I do in lakes but not in the bay. The bay can get rough and large boats, Ferries and tankers put out some large wakes

Great looking Butts Stix, especially from a Yak!! 👍 What brand are the outriggers? Those look like a top notch setup. Congrats on the catches. Good Luck on your Next outing!

RuffplayOR57, Got them on Amazon. Just search for Kayak Outrigger. Around $50 shipped.. They work great and makes my kayak much more stable when I got out in the bay
