Oh and here is a nice silver I caught at Rotary Park off the dock. Was not optimistic at all; river at high level,no net, no "Wacker", only 3 folks on the river. Well this fresh silver took in my Vibrex and gave me a fight! First time I had to use my fist to "stun" the fish! Lesson learned-be prepared!
Last year three of us, my son in law, Alaskan friend, and I were heading North on Sterling highway after trout fishing. Son in law was complaining that he didn't see a moose yet. Well she was in the middle of the road and tried to run the F150 towing a boat to the right shoulder. So sitting in the back of driver he got to see a moose from about a 6" distance! Driver kept his cool and drove to the shoulder and the cow veered off into the other lane. Luckily there wasn't a car coming in the other direction. Alaska is the only state with roadkill that kills you!
Spent 12 days Sept 6-18 in South Central Alaska;. Kenei, Homer, Seward. Rained about every day but caught some fish!
