We have a 2nd home in Bryan since my wife is a professor @ A&M.

I've driven by Lake Bryan once or twice but never fished there. We're interested in going out with someone to get insight in what works there and where to go since each lake is unique. An experienced guide or even a local that's fished there can help get me acclimated and if we can catch some fish, all the better.

I have a small boat but it's at our main home 200+ miles away so want to get a bit of first hand experience before I decide if it's worth bringing it over.

We had driven out to and along the Port A south jetty on our last trip and saw a lot of people fishing. I didn't know how you got to the other side but I do recall seeing signs for the jetty boat so thanks for the tip.

When we were on our guided boat trip in October, my wife & I caught 4 bull reds from the boat in the jetty canal. Closer to the north side than the south and about 75 yards from the gulf end. All 4 were 35" - 37". Not sure if you can get into them like that from the jetty but would be great to try.

Thanks! Goose Island seems like a good winter spot since it should be protected from the predominant north winds.
Same for the south side of the road between Aransas Pass and Port A and along the jetty. Will try a few of those spots next weekend and then plan for the next trip (and the next...).

I've been to Rockport a few times in the past but haven't shore fished much. We live in the Hill Country, just NW of Kerrville so it's nearly a 4 hour trek down but I really enjoy it and plan to get down there more time permitting. May even get a kayak at some point. I wouldn't want to try to navigate a boat down there, I will leave that to the professionals...

I've driven around the area, out to Port Aransas and Goose Island State Park. I've fished off shore, from the pier of a house we stayed at in Estes and near the north end of the 35 bridge where the old Copano fishing pier used to be. I've walked out on the Fulton pier but didn't fish there.

I am going to Fulton for the weekend of 12/9-12/11 with one of my adult sons to try to find some good shore/pier fishing spots for this time of year. I have hip & chest waders but am a newbie to saltwater wade fishing. My son doesn't have waders so if I wade, he'll be on the shore. I plan to use this trip to try to locate some places we can go to again on another trip later in December or check them off as not worth a return (at least in December).

Going again with my entire family 12/19-12/23 to a Miss Kitty's rental house on Copano Bay. We have a guide set up to take us out on on an inshore boat trip and we can fish from the pier at the house.

I plan to get everyone out to do some shore fishing to get my sons excited about the area, they've never been there. Maybe we'll return to places I try next weekend or at least I'll have at better idea of spots to try once I've checked out some of the options.

I have a lot of artificial lures and can also do live / dead bait as appropriate. My wife & I have tagged out on bull Reds for the year but our sons haven't. Our 27 & 29 yo sons aren't picky fisherman, quantity over quality.

Any input is much appreciated. Looking to target whatever is biting this time of year. So many spots that all look pretty good. I expect some are better than others, especially in December.
