All the ones I've had are golden all over with no green but there's always a chance is another subspecies and variants. I did "fish" them out of Albertsons! Totally by chance find. They were beautiful. I saved the skins and didn't cook that part. They dried nicely but not as brilliant a color as when freshly "caught". I've never seen them in the market after that year. So, I'm also unsure which exact area they were harvested. Could have been farm raised but idk.

It also looks like a Golden Trout which is endemic to that area I believe. But only you can know for sure if its really golden cus the light and my eyes arent so good. Do a Google search. Nice catch at any rate!!! Congrads and it looks like you really enjoyed your trip. I need to get outta town and up there one of these days soon!!

Haven't had that version....yet. The calls from "the sheriff/police are looking for you" for "_(fill in the blank)_" had me by the short hairs for 10 minutes. Until I realized that it was bogus. (Not that I really had broken any laws). Then remembered gov't doesn't call. They send letters ...or a cop at your door. Which isn't going to get unlocked until I see more bonified papers and a call to 911 first. The electric company line workers get a full screening from me anymore. It's scary how scammers just keep at it. Now they're showing up at doorsteps with "free gifts" from Medicare/Medicaid to try and get SS numbers..."to compare to our list",BS. They try to look official with yellow construction safety vests and oversized name IDs, on a lanyard. Warn your family...Mom's and Dad's etc. They're sooooo sneaky. My friend's Mom fell for these door perps, thank God for something else that SSN wasn't asked for. There's a special place in hell for these thieves. I am calling the police the next time they show up...which will be in about a month....

Some are. Some are ghost numbers that have someone who will pick up. With ghost numbers, sometimes you get the real owner of the number.
Had that happen one day. I didn't pick up when the number was first put through to mine. Later I dialed it to give that "person" a piece of my mind. The real owner picked up. We had an interesting conversation.
Another time, I picked up when it rang. I kept a mental note what the caller ID name was. As soon as I got connected to the scammer, he said who he was. When I asked him why he was using someone else's number, he stuttered then hung up. I love harassing these people. They deserve sooooo much more......

I've heard it takes less time. However, I also have, a land line. And there is NOTHING "they" can get over that old technology except my phone number connected to that line. They might be able to get my name. IDK on that. I have caller ID cancelled on the line. I know that 800 numbers can get info on 800 numbers but not 'ghost' numbers. I hope the phone companies are cracking down on random 800 number accounts. Between real charities selling numbers in the past and the phone companies indiscriminately selling 800 numbers, we now have this giant mess of problems. It's sometimes difficult to not hold resentments to these non-people entities but after 20 disturbances from scammers trolling for victims in less than a day. Its frustrating and agitating.

I keep asking "Hello....Hello???" Then I start banging the receiver against something metal and keep repeating "Hello?" I do this only on my landline. I dont answer if my cell. If a text comes that's a scammer or some political poj then I used to respond and tell them in not so nice terms what I REALLY want to say. They delete my message 100%. I dont do that anymore cus I've heard "they" can trace your phone back and get into your account, etc. I dont do anything on my cell that I dont want publicly announced, banking, etc. but I just don't want to replace it. If on the LL and I'm told to press a number to get connected to a "representative" I used to press the number then when answered I bang the hell out of the receiver. "they" stopped calling me for a while then restarted. Now I just dont answer or I cut them off before the outgoing message. I'm getting less calls now. Evil, nasty people. If its just someone who needs a job there are plenty of honest jobs out there BUT you have to WORK to get paid. So if they're not honest either then they deserve people like us, huh?

Hi Zipaussiegirl!
Welcome. I have not fished in either of these lakes..."yet". However, I have visited Hemet on several occasions while dabbling in some of my other hobby adventures...hiking, rock hunting, star gazing/photography, etc.
There is (hopefully still there) a lake/campground shop with the usual tackle, food/snacks, etc located on the hwy 74 side of Hemet. I have always had people in these lake front shops to be very helpful (no matter what lake you are) who you are, where you're from, etc. They want your business and so they are the most up to date on what fish are biting and what has been the most successful baits and terminal tackle/set ups location of good spots and just about any info you'd want to know. I have fished at Lake Skinner and Vail Lake in Butterfield country, many times. The usual types of fish are there i.e. crappie, blue gill, bass, trout and catfish (no stripped bass that I'm aware of) as the lakes are all land locked. It's a beautiful area with big lake acreage (at least in non-drought years).
