I live in Morgan Hill and wondering if anyone out there ever fishes for trout in the Coyote Creek. Walking along the trails I have seen guys fish in the purk ponds along the trail as well as the creek, but never asked.
If only trout fishing was a little closer to me
Thank you, I didn't see it. I'm a little new on this site.
Still don't know where you are catching all these trout. Are you just saving them all for yourself?
Nice trout, but where did you catch them in California
Thank you for all your information. I will try fishing there as soon as the weather gets better. I'm sure Sandy Wool is full and probably dirty, so it might be best until the water clears
Watched some YouTube videos on fishing at Sandy Wool. The trout there appear to just around 9 or 10 inches. May not be worth traveling 45 miles for barely a dinner
Is there handicap parking near where you fish
Thank you. I have heard of Sandy Wool but never been there before. I will check it out
For years Fish and Wildlife has stopped trout planting and fishing in Santa Clara County, and our reservoirs have been almost dried due to the drought, but now with the rain, most of them are full or near full with fresh water. Does anyone know if Fish and Wildlife will ever start planting trout again so us residents don't have to travel 50+ miles to fish?
Hello PNWTrout, and thank you for your response. Haven't heard about Quarry Lake in Hayward yet, but I will check it out and maybe put it on my list for this fall or winter. I did hear about Los Vaqueros Reservoir in Livermore, and there to I would have to wait until fall or winter for trout.
Hey TomTrack44, thank you for your response. I believe the water hole you are referring to is Parkway Lakes. Parkway closed down several years ago due to the guy running it was busted for having a Meth lab there. Anyway, Parkway is just about dry now. Years ago I use to fish in Chesbro and Uvas when they use to plant trout, but that hasn't happened in over 40 years. Anderson has been drained due to to dam repairs.
So you see my friend there is no trout fishing near by
Thank you IROLL for the information. Even though I have never heard of Los Vaqueros Reservoir, Livermore is about a hour away and doable. Yes, I need to wait for things to cool down and hopefully get some rain, no excuses me, lots of rain.
I would think there would be handicapped parking closer.
Thanks again, I will check it out
Hello All, this is my first post so bear with me.
Because of my physical impairments, I had to sell my boat at Santa Cruz harbor several years ago. I sure miss all the salmon, Halibut, and lingcod. Being said, I miss fishing and need to go back to trout fishing that I use to do while years ago before buy my boat for salt water fish. The problem is, places I use to fish for trout no longer plant trout, and to make things even worst, we have been in a drought for several years and there is not much fishing anywhere near me.
Any suggestion on where I can fish for trout within a 50-75 radius from where I live in Morgan Hill, California. I will need to be a place where I have easy access to get to the water. Like I said before, I do have some physical impairments that prevents me from rough terrain to get to the water.
Thank you in advance
