Thanks! That's pretty slick.
How slick is it?
Slicker than ................
you tell me
Grandma used to say, “slicker than snot on a door knob.” I always got a laugh outta that,
OMG,... I’ve been calling them “electric worms” cuz when I touch em’ they squirm around like they’ve been electrified. Didn’t have them in Indiana where I used to live, but now that I’m in GA, I’m getting used to a lot of new creatures. Interesting to know that they’re considered invasive. Also interesting to know they eat roots on veggies in my garden. Now I don’t feel guilty using em as fish bait!
Great catch. I’m curious about the table setup for when you clean your fish. The outdoor table looks like a rubber top under the cutting board. I’m trying to get something setup in my utility sink area in my garage but need suggestions or pics. Of what you’ve done..
Wow,I like this idea. Maybe I can rig it sideways somehow so it doesn’t drop as deep. Good price too. Thanks. I thought there was SOMETHING out there like this. Good idea!
I live on a private lake in a gated community in GA. There are a lot of underwater snags and fallen trees which do make it difficult for dragging a wire basket. I prefer catching bass and bluegill but this body of water does have its share of catfish. Thanks for all your comments. I like the idea of a cooler with ice behind the seat. Just have to install some cleats for latching it down.
Thanks. I’ve looked in local stores to no avail. My dad used to have one and I remember putting our little bluegills in it. That was my initial thought as well. Guess I’ll have to order on line.
Yes it is. I guess I should have said I wasn’t brave enough to give it a first try. Maybe next time!
Oops now it went through twice. Fish doesn’t look as big as it felt but the box is 16” long. I ended up releasing it since I don’t know how to clean a catfish.
I’ll have to try that. I made a floating plastic storage box using a pool noodle on top of two sides and drilling large holes in the box. Worked OK until I snagged into that monster catfish on my third cast. The fish pulled me around the pond for a few minutes and I realized, this fish was not gonna fit in my “box” so I had to paddle with one hand, hold the rod with the fighting fish in the other and make my way toward the shore to land the fish. All the while, my little box in the water is adding drag and making maneuverability very difficult. Long story short, some hikers we’re watching my predicament and eventually helped me land the fish on shore.
Yes I got a picture of the fish and my box but still trying to figure out how to post it.
He’s me in my kayak. It is tiny but it’s easy for me to haul up and down my hill.
Okay, perhaps some of you remember my fishing story about the MONSTER catfish that ate my bluegill that I had on a stringer dragging behind my kayak while I was fishing for bass. (Whew, that was a long sentence!). Anyway, my question to you fellow kayakers is this,.....what do you use in/on your kayak to keep your “caught” fish live while you keep fishing? My kayak is only 8’ long and there is no live well. Any suggestions?
Interesting, because these sacs are very clear inside. And yes I have seen smaller snails here but some of these sacs Are very large which seem to point to the Bryozoa. I’ll keep you posted if it proves otherwise.
OMG,.. I googled Bryozoa colony and watched a YouTube video called “Attack of the Blob” and a sequel video that was funny and both showed almost EXACTLY what these blobs are. I’m excited to finally know what these are and kinda glad to see them. Mystery Solved! Thanks one and all for your comments and help.
We just moved to Big Canoe (Jasper) last January from Indianapolis indiana. It’s been quite the change from the “flatlands” to the mountains but we love it and haven looked back. This is the first time that I’ve actually lived on a body of water where I can go out anytime and fish - I think I’m in heaven.
Yes,.. definitely. Found a place on the internet that will be very accommodating for the one day that I want to spend fishing for lake trout. Hopefully, I won’t hook in to a Loch Ness creature. 😁🎣
