True words drewpolk. The time stuck in my recliner sometimes haunts me and shames me for my wasted time left on this beautiful blue marble and calm waters.
Do I smell somebody cooking fish out there?

Thank you for your service as well plumbob and the kind words. That’s what us older folks do best sometimes. Reminisce. Helps us bind our brotherhood!

You are a wise person Fixorfish! I like where your head is at. Variety is the spice of life as with fish and conversation.

This forum is for us Ken. Nobody is policing conversation content.
My ship was the last sexy cobra in my book. The AH1-g. I was one of the last crew chief cycles that they let set in the gunners seat on reconnaissance missions. (101st airborne aerial artilary) I was an E6 specialist. They started loosing enlisted gunners and claimed we were to expensive... what does that mean? I was in Hue just after Tet and spent 2 years flying/crewing the DMZ.
Just to stay on topic the fishing was lousy there if you didn’t like carp....ha ha!

Hey FS Digest
I travel light in my rig with a rod for the most desired fish I’m looking for being pan fish, bass and catfish. A rod for each maybe two...my eyes make it hard for a lot of knot tying. What I’m getting to is that everything is ready to use and how I keep things from getting stuck with sharp hooks on those rods in the boat and truck is I take and old pill bottle which I have plenty of and cut a slit in the cap wide enough to slip the line through. Drop the tied lure into the bottle and place the cap on the bottle with the line slid through the slot. The extra tackle can fit in a small box that keeps the essential stuff like clippers, extra small gear.

Hey Ken B. Good to here from a man after my own heart. Vietnam 69’ to 71’. Crew chief on AH1 Cobra.
Like you fishing now keeps me from turning into a fossil. I fish just to enjoy the outdoors and wildlife. Down here in Florida you have to stay alert in the marsh for gators but they don’t bother you unless it’s mating season or she has a brood of young ones nearby. It can be really humbling if your in a small kayak....been there.

Thank you jump master! Definitely sounds like I need to get some fish in the bucket and try out your recipes they sound great!
Jump Master sounds familiar being an old 101st airborne guy that has bailed out of perfectly good airplanes...ha ha.

Hey there Pickle. Yes she behaves very well. She does want to skid a little when going full throttle (7 knots) hard turn. But I’m an old airboater and that’s all they know how to do. So I’m comfortable with it. Since the picture was taken I have mount a 2.5 hp OB where the trolling motor is shown. Extends my range by 10 to 15 miles and out run (walk fast) thunderstorms! I use the trolling motor for just that.

Thank you poppa. It is stable. I can step off the dock on to the side and it moves very little. I appreciate that with arthritic knees.....ha ha! The panfish here can go a pound or two if you know where to find the them and are a great sport fish on light tackle and they eat real good. I air fry mine after a good egg corn meal batter wash. Can be a little bony but the larger ones will fillet well.

Thank you. The only disadvantage (not really) is trying to get away from the ramp for all the interest it creates. But I enjoy sharing the process as well.

Just want to say hello to all my like hearted friends out there.
I fish the skinny waters in central Florida. My favorite fish for eating is the panfish here. Northern folks call them bluegills (used to be one) we call the bream here. My favorite kind of rig is fly rod with all ultralight tackle. Ultralight spinning tackle for bass. I made a rig to ply my favorite places. Check it out...
