No Stu, I have a rotator cuff with damage that prevents me from being able to cast. Sold the Ranger bass boat and bought a 24 ft pontoon. Way to big for one guy to launch and retrieve so I'm down for a bit, right as the crappie are in the mood getting ready for winter. Dang.....But you can't keep an old fisher down, I'll bounce back and let you know my next move.... Stay well my friend, great hearing rom you... keep those lines tight...

Went fishing today with a buddy. We went to a lake neither of us had ever been to, but was recommended by a mutual friend. It's bit of a drive to get there, then you have to find a dirt road and go about 7 miles in. Like most of the lakes in Utah, it's only about half full. We really need a lot of snow this year or we'll have no water next year.

We limited out in a couple of hours. Released another five or six really nice trout. None of the ones we released were any smaller than those on the stringer. The first picture is a tiger trout. I've never seen one that golden before. They're normally much greener. The weather was in the forties driving up, but it was really quite pleasant, with just a bit of wind. Took the rest of the loop we came in on, came out in Wyoming, stopped for a late lunch and came home. All in all, it was a great day.

Hey there old buddy, Great day for you and a buddy, I'm jealous, haven't been able to get out due to a bad shoulder, my arm doesn't want to work for casting so I will have to troll until I get better. Glad you had such a good time and wish I was there with you two. Keep it going Stu, tight lines my friend..

Thanks but due to the age of the boat and any dents are very small so I'm not worried about them, just wanted to make the boat look better than it was when I bought it a few weeks ago.... Tom

It will be a while as the temps here are still hitting about 100 degrees.

Agreed, My dear old Dad used to say "If it's worth doing, do it right the first time". I have lived by that all my life and have found it very rewarding. Since I never undertook this kind of project I have done a lot of reading and asking for thoughts so when this is done I want to be proud of the results. I appreciate all the kind words...

Many thanks to all of you who gave their thoughts on how to paint my OLD aluminum boat. There were so many thoughts that I will combine some of them and when the painting is done I will post a picture of the finished paint job. Thanks again guys...

Howdy all, I have an OLD aluminum boat that was painted several times and it is UGLY !! Being old there are some minor dings and dents and of course rivets to deal with. I have been using a spray on paint stripper to remove as much of the old paint as possible. My question is just how clean must the boat be before painting it? After paint removal I have been sanding with 80grit to remove any leftover paint... any suggestions will be appreciated..
