Went trout fishing last weekend in Aspendale area near Bishop. There was 5 of us... we all limited out on trout.... 10 to 14 inch planters with a few German Browns... nothing big enough to brag about. We had most luck at Intake 2, two miles from Sabrina Lake on hi way 168. Using blowed up worms. It rained a lot ( Altitude about 8400 ft). Great time. I used my waders, floater and fins to get across to the inlet from Bishop Creek... straight across from the handicap pier.... good luck!
I heard that there was some big trout in here. My brother says he lost two 6 lb'ers but caught a few 10 incher's. I went yesterday nothing was biting... but everyone was saying there are some big ones there. It cost $5.00 entry fee... nice little lake with camping and rving... I am not affiliated with the lake in any way... just passing on information.
We've been coming to Bishop area for 17 years... the fishing has slowed down so much the last 5 years we are thinking of taking our "guys fishing trip" somewhere else. Really sad... it is a beautiful area.
Went out with family and friends on two pontoon boats at June lake on 6/11.... 12 guys only 4 small trout caught.... the dtate needs to fix their hachery issues and plant some fish... beautiful lake and town... just poor fishing... all the trout were hanhing out under the docks... which you can't fish...bummer.
Tehacapi has Brite lake... it is private but anyone can fish for trout for $5.00 . No gas motors allowed. They do stock it regularly with trout. No a big place but enough room to change spots occasionally. It is at about 4200 ft elevation... they do allow camping too...
I have been looking too... no joy. I spoke to the guy at the Marina who rents boats...
But he is going to say good things no matter what
