In the Fall of the year in Central MN North of Brainerd for the previous 40 years I fished Hole-In-The-Day shore on the west-side of highway 371 from the first full moon in September until freeze up. This was from an hour before sun-down until 11 PM at least 35 evenings in the Fall. Some nights you could catch a limit of walleyes and other nights nothing. I used a Carolina rig with 4 inch fat head minnows for bait all the time. Others used creek chubs or rock suckers.
Currently I moved to Mpls, MN and am looking for an area to fish similar to this type of situation but have not come up with a suitable site yet. If anyone in this area of MN has ideas for this type of fishing I certainly would like input. Have a good day all.
