Sorry I didn't see this until today (April 24th) but we had our 50th Anniversary reception in Macon last weekend and I couldn't have met anyway. If you get another chance, set something up and I'll be there.
It's certainly fine with me but mine won't be coming; she has a 5 year old grandson to take care of.
That would be great. Let me know when y'all want to meet up and I'll be there.
That would be good with me; it's about 32 miles for me - and a beautiful drive over Blood Mountain.
I'm just outside of Helen, in Sautee Nacoochee, GA. It would be nice to meet up.
Super! We had a home in Blue Ridge (actually Morganton) and loved it. Give me a shout out when you land. Putting you on the buddy list.
Yeah, most of the lakes up here are basically private property. There's some but not much.
Hey Gator, welcome to the forum. I don't have anything to offer; I think Ivey covered it very well. I live right down the road near Helen. Give me a holler sometime. We had crappie last night but I caught them in a farm pond (limited out in under 2 hours) in Moultrie, GA.
I've slain limits of crappie with a small jig and skirt. Seems like the "metalflake" ones do best. Works every bit as good as minnows.

Just looked back at some of your other post and seen the avatar picture and one with some halibut. Nice trip you had.
Thanks Gordon. We lived in Alaska for three years and took 17 two-week (or more) vacations there over the years.

Viking what is that monster fish in your Avitar.
That is a 63lb Alaskan King Salmon that I caught in the famous Kenai River. About an hour later I hooked up with what was a 45lb "hen". Best day on the water of my life.
Should be great. A good friend and I limited out on specs about 3 weeks ago in Moultrie (farm pond out on Funston Hwy). We went to Lake Talquin in Fla, last Saturday and nobody caught over two all day.
I went with a friend to a farm pond in Moultrie about 3 weeks ago and limited out on crappie. I also caught a few bream and a small bass. We released quite a bit also. I saw a couple of homes that didn't even have a private pond.
RAFB refugee here. The Ocmulgee, NORTH of Macon, is pretty good. Lake Juliette is pretty good. Good striper fishing both places. Don't bother with Tobosofkee; too many props in the water. The Ohoopie is not too far if you'd like to limit out on bream; it's legendary. I've never known anyone that fished Flat Creek.
The Major had great advice about checking with MWR; they rent boats and fishing gear and I know for sure (I worked at MWR at Elmendorf) they'll know some good spots.
Probably no different than any other river / lake. It's about 15 miles from me. I've been intending to fish it for the last two+ years but still haven't. You'll need to keep a sharp lookout for the boat ramp; it's basically hidden. It's a beautiful "lake"; haven't been to the lake yet, just the "river" that flows from the dam. Hit me up and I might be able to meet you over there and do some fishing with you.
