I think he is ready to start as a guide! So does Hunter!!!
Thanks! I'm a proud Papa!
Thanks to those who likes the pics of my grandson and his Eagle Lake trout. He is a local kid, this time of year is best on Eagle. Caught on homemade jigs (similar to a maribou). His personal best is a 8.2 lb largemouth 2 years ago, out of a nearby lake (not Eagle!). Nothing like a nice 4 lb'er to make a kids' day!
Can't respond to my post, so I posted again due to alot of responses I can't reply to. Thanks to those who encourage Hunters fishing passion!
Time to take my passion to a different site to talk fishing, any suggestions?
My 7 year old grandson Hunter is thinking about about starting his own guide service!! Kid knows how and where to fish! This is 11/20 (yesterday) at Eagle Lake!! And no help from adults!!
Yes, lots of 1 lbers! That time of year, could try Britton also
Antelope still kicking out a few bass
Lake Britton, Eagle Lake, Susan River (McCoy Flat area, Fall River, ect, ect. We have the best fishing in all of Commiefornia up here!
Long before you get to Old Station (Uncle Runts) get a forest service map (or Google Twin Bridges and Emigrant Ford, quite aways upstream from Old Station. You can get to it, but Sierra Pacific has a gate up, so have to walk a little ways. Or, not far past the entrance to Lassen Park (across 44 from the snowmobile warming hit, the road will take you (a map helps) right to the boundaries of Lassen Park where Hat Creek exists the park. Fish upstream (yes you can fish inside the park) downstream thru the gorge is the best!!
I've been fishing up there over 5 decades!
Up around the Park boundaries is great fishing. Getting more difficult to get to locations with the land baron SPI blocking off many roads. You can fish inside the Park also. The stretch from Emigrant Ford up into the Park is the best (Creek goes thru a small gorge above the Ford,) a little tough going be the big ones are in the pools there.
Looking pretty good now! (I look at Hat Creek almost daily!) Haven't had a chance to fish it this year.
A little advice?! Go upstream, stay away from the crowds and the planters! Upstream, nice, big natives!
Come up to Northeastern California (aka:God's country!) I've been fly fishing all our small stream for over 5 decades! A wide variety of trout to chase! (Check out the California Heritage Trout program thru DFW! Catch most of these trout up Herron the list!)
You w9nt want to go back south!
I grew up fishing Cow creek (all 3 branches) Atkins, Clover, Hat, Bailey, Digger. The decision is always a tough one!
I prefer to fly fish them, Royal Coachman, Buzz Hackle, mosquito, hopper and you're det for fun!!
I tend to stick to the streams! So many to fish from!
Yes, we go to the Shingletown store often. New owners about a year and a half ago.
I believe PGE pretty much abandoned Kilarc, such a shame, was a cool place before the fire
Seen some pictures couple days back from couple locals, Looks like Grace and Nora have been returned to lakes!! Heard DFW was going to stock soon.
Haven't been to Kilarc 8n a few years now, I believe it is drained and gone, power house decommissioned quite a few years ago.
Don't overlook all the fantastic, small mountain streams we have up here!! Great fishing, delicious trout
