thanks for the confirmation on the sandbar thing I have never fished off of one simply because I am chicken there it is. I stepped off a river bank into the shallows and sunk up to my thighs in mud. I was alone and plenty scared and took me 29 minutes to get out. That is what I was afraid of about sandbars. So now i feel better about being Smart about the sandbars lol thanks again

AM an avid fisherman have been since childhood. Love it. Am retired now so can fish as much as I want. With all the years of fishing I do not call myself a great fisherman because I have only used basic equipment and techniques so I signed up here to learn as much as I can from experienced anglers.
I am in Pittsburgh Pa. and just started fishing in the rivers with moderate success with small mouth bass amd some walleye. My first love is the Largemouth which I caught my first in the river last week. My dream fish are the Northern Pike and Musky which I have NONE.
