These were sent to me by J in Cleveland. One in the winter that looks like it is a black and white photo because of the ice and snow. The other is colorful taken in the Fall. Hope you enjoy.

IHello everyone,
I am a anything fisherman that's biting. I love to catch white/hybrid bass, catfish and bluegills, (generic name).
I just bought a 16ft pontoon to get back into fishing. Been about 7 years since I've been fishing. I have fished mainly Wright Patman but love to fish Dequeen, Gillham and Dierks lakes in Arkansas. Fished Millwood, actually the river mostly. Have run yoyo's on Millwood for crappie and catfish. But too many gators so I mainly fish till the water temp puts them in hibernation, fall and winter. Not limited to any lake to explore. I record all my sonar from my Lowrance.
If I'm catching anything I am always ready to share any techniques or bait I use.
I look forward to reading y'all's post.
Have a great day of fishing.

Welcome, I'm also in the LA area and I found that H&M landing in Point Loma had the best off shore fishing.
I don't fish in the city at all. I always take a trip to the eastern sierras for trout. Bill

willing and able to try H&M again! Ever since a buddy got a boat, I've been tagging along whenever he goes... paying gas and doing deck hand duties seems a small price to pay for the freedom of going whenever and wherever BUT, the downside, we have little to no ability to place ourselves on the fish. HA. that hasn't changed either in a long time, so we usually just end up bottom fish retrieving and watching dolphins or an occasional whale ... all said , still not a bad way to spend time.

Welcome to the Stage!!! Morro Bay has some pretty nice overnight fishing charters with some tasty chow. They also have some really nice catches of Rock Cods and Ling Cod.

Hi~ I am familiar with the chow. Really nice. Love catching blues and blacks, they seem to herd together, eh? Never got a ling keeper... gotta check that box soon...

Good morning RAVI,
A really good spot is wair pond. It's on 138 off 395 in Bishop it's about 1/8 mile from so lake. And you will need your waders. It's the best all around area for fly fishing. Season is fully open the last Saturday in April. The first weekend in march is an early opener but limited to west of 395 and south of independence. I plan on a trip on that weekend.
Happy to hear your out there hiking and camping. It's a beautiful area and no crowd in the back country.
I been going to the eastern sierras for over 50 years and only scratch the the tip of the iceberg as to places to fish and enjoy.
I wish you luck on your next trip and stay in touch. Bill

Welcome to the Forum Ravi ! Morro Bay is where I'm closest to, Good fishing , keep us informed of your adventures ! Good Luck and Tight Lines!!👍

Well, there is a fish plant going on this week that I am considering to test out a new fly fishing set up! I don't know how to post pics here yet, but that is making an educated guess that I will catch something. I can almost guarantee a catch on the regular set up, split shot, Eagle treble hook, and powerbait (don't judge too much, I fall on the side of when you want to make sure you catch at least one, always bring the chartreuse colored fake stuff) One day I'll fly fish a wild trout and match wits. Till then, fake fishing for hatched ones will have to do.

Morro Bay is a great camping destination. You are a lucky ={ my friend.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the welcome and the Eastern Sierras have been a favorite camping destination forever. Especially enjoyed hiking into a little campsite 2 hrs from Placerville on a moonlight summer. Just purchased a fly rod to match an inherited Orvis 5/6 reel. Watched a few instructional videos on casting, eye protection (Don't want to temp fate) and wader choices ( went with a pretty standard big 5 cheapie to start ) other than the basics, any fly fishing golden tips? Don't mind trial learning by jumping right into the deep end... what else is a semi-retired person going to fill up the days with? lol

I know, how about a primer on looking up the myriad fishing regulations in the Eastern Sierras? Catch limits vary widely I am told. Any one stop source for info? Easy to look up or call someone / someplace? Spotty internet on cell while in the mountains... gps unreliable is what I can recall (ask how I know) ha! stupid me, got lost once.

Thanks in advance
