Limited fishing skills from a wheelchair. All depends on the height of the rail at the pier. Able to cast a long distance but when I need a fast retrieve I am limited. Been catching the grandpa mackerel because they can't run as fast as the younguns. Sometimes they have some size and I have a problem getting them over the rail. Afraid rod tip might snap. Most of us Vets don't have as much patients as we used too. Fish Dania pier in Florida. Not as friendly as years gone by..I do take up a lot of room because of all my special equipment. I must be the only south Florida fisherman. Have had no response to my posts. Guess the old timers know everything and the youngsters are lazy. I have been doing very well this fall. Surf fishing in Dade and Broward County is great if you know the contoure of the ocean bottom. Incredible snook year. Fish this year artificial only. Little sauce enhancement. And that is all. My PB was beat 3 times.

Cold weather has stirred up the pomps here in Hollywood. Long time coming, finally some decent size fish. Straight fish bites, clam and shrimp type. No response from other South Florida fishermen. Disappointed.

Been fishing this area for 50 yrs. This has been the toughest year ever. Am I alone in this picture?. Have tried all of what I know and have only gotten small pomps and small snook. Plenty of junk but no decent fish. Am 84 yrs young and still fairly mobile, so Am willing to try anything.
