It is my photo skills, the position, and phone that make him look pale. This one was very colorful.

That's good. Didn't mean to criticize. I've seen a few photos lately and they weren't yours. They all seemed to be pale.

Just a question, why are the Utah rainbows so pale? It seems that they used to be more colorful and darker. Is it just the angle of the photos or something else?

I hooked and lost one about that size in South Haven, MI about 44 years ago. Snapped the line going under a boat in the marina. Congrats on landing that beauty.

Hi qorlis, welcome. Good to see you will be active on here. I'm from Utah, I retired from Hill AFB and moved up here to Idaho. If you ice fish you will enjoy it there. All the lakes are froze now. I herd Porcupine is hot right now.

Hi. Thanks. I used to ice fish when I lived in Upstate NY on one of the Finger Lakes when I was a fingerling, lol. I think I had enough of that. I appreciate the heads-up on it, though.

Qorlis, another tip to share. If you want to respond to a particular comment, use the โ€œquote replyโ€ feature. That way, every knows who your replying to.

Thanks Dakoda. That helps. Sometimes, when I'm replying another comment comes in and my reply doesn't go directly after the comment I'm trying to answer. I was wondering how to do it right. I appreciate the tip.

Thanks. I'll be trying them all. Are you offering a boat, then? ๐Ÿ˜‰

That's ok. Everything else is in lower case, though. I just wanted you to know that it's a "Q" not "G".

Newton reservoir is close to you for crappie and bass it is a small reservoir. South of you is Hyrum reservoir for trout and bass. South and East is Porcupine reservoir for trout and kokanee. Then there are reservoirs in Southern Idaho. Which I also fish it depends on whether you want to fish Idaho and Utah.

Thanks. I know about Newton and Hyrum. I haven't fished them yet, but I plan to. I wasn't aware of Porcupine, so Thanks for that one, especially. For now, Utah is enough. Since I don't own a boat, I will be doing mostly shore fishing and river/stream fishing. I wouldn't mind looking for some small lakes as well. I've heard that Crescent lake is pretty good, but it looks like I would be doing some hiking to get to it.

Thank you Jim. It's actually qorlis with a "Q". Anyway, there's a Sportsman's Warehouse in Logan, if you're familiar with the Cache Valley area. I'll check them out as well as the state's site. I actually have their app.

Thanks Danger25. I'll be watching for them. You're not quite as far away as my mom. She's in Northern Maine. You are a bit of a distance, though.
