Pascal’s Wager

Do you believe in God? Or do you wonder how anyone could believe in God? Well, look at Pascal’s wager, or his challenge to whether one should, or should not belief in a Creator God! The following is a way, even without physical evidence.

His Wager goes like this: No one can opt out, they must choose!

If you hold this belief and do your best to be obedient, then after death,
You will live with all the other believers in Paradise.

If in fact, there is no God:
Believers will die without either any reward or punishment.

If, in fact, there is no God:
Unbelievers will be in the same state as Believers.

If there is a God:
Unbelievers will live forever in eternal punishment in Hell!
So, it is obvious that whether there is, or is not, a living Creator, you are far better off living as a believer.

The thing this seems to assume, is that we can decide what to believe. It has to make sense to us to believe anything.

Yes, Robert J, I am probably about your age, and was thinking this evening, I was lucky to experience the history that happened during my lifetime.

Hi, I just meant it as a joke, as he was comparing the fish with his feet. I don't get out much any more, as am 85 years old and is harder now, but here is a 95 lb big head carp that was caught very near my son's place just south of Savanna, Illinois.
I did buy some carp and filetted them and smoked them and then canned them in pint jars this year. Only wish I had some half pint jars, as pints are a little big lol. I call them Mississippi Salmon. Makes very good salmon patties, and good on crackers right out of the jar. I even made some chowder with potatoes and carrots and onions that was good.
Happy hooking,
