Haven’t fished for fall bass in years. Any tips on lures etc. for fall bass in North Alabama? Tried crankbait the other day but only caught stripes. Are they near surface or do I need to get on the bottom with jigs or plastics? Thanks
Was on Wilson Lake Saturday, the 6th, and was catching small mouth on medium running crank bait, 4-10 feet, along the shoreline in 2-4 foot of water. The lure was a crayfish with red and chartreuse with natural brown back. Fish were hitting on the way down. Most were small but did manage a good 2 plus lb beauty. Plan to get back on the water tomorrow, the 11 th, and will focus on other areas including the tail race. I've been trying to locaqte a good map of this lake with notations of all stump rows, underwater structures, etc., etc., etc. Any advice for such a map? After Saturday, I've been bit by the bug! Plan on a very active fall and winter for pursuit of crappie and small mouth!!
