Hi everyone, I'm new here and live in Helena Montana. I love catfish fishing but we don't have catfish here in or around Helena so I thought I would go looking. Some say they caught cats at Great Falls but had no luck. I drove a bit further to Fort Benton MT. I got there well after dark, was parked at a boat launch, and thought I'd take a nap. I'm no more dozing off and woke up all I could think to do is get started. I got all set up threw mi line out sat down and texted my wife and told her I was fishing instead of sleeping. And Bam I got my first bit ill put a pic below ended up with three of these forgot the last pic though. went to Loma the next day no luck. went back to Fort Benton.

Just I only had these fish out of the water long enough for pics then returned em back to the river. I have a policy, I won't keep Catfish 5 lbs or bigger. It's just me I don't care if others keep em. These are producers and I like returning them because Montana doesn't stock catfish in central or western Montana so we gotta do what we can to keep'em in our rivers.
