Hi borough,
Nice fish.
Where did you find it in Lancaster SC?
I live on Fishing Creek lake, but I find the Bass fishing is easier on the golf course ponds than the lake.
Take care

Any input about this lake fishing it today and have no info

I have not fished the lake in a while. There used to be deep weed bed, in 10-20 depth. Use top water, spinnerbait, worms, jigs, or of course senko.
I preferred the weedbeds on the RT 17 B side of the lake.
Good luck and remember to let us know how you did

Thanks for the info. I will give it a try.

Forgot one other technique, that will do very well is skipping your bait under the docks.
Especially when the sun is bright.
I used to fish in tournaments up in NYS, those two lakes were popular on trail.
Good luck, please let me know how you do

Just bought a place on Upson Point Road, near Himrod, and wish to do some some fishing. Any one have any 100% sure fire guaranteed techniques to catch smallmouth bass, perch and the other warm water fishes on this lake. There seems to be a sawbelly kill, many minnows floating dead and dying on the surface, and no predators taking them. I have the impression this is mostly a trout lake. Anybody having luck otherwise.

Both Cayuga and Seneca lakes are very good for smallmouth and largemouth Bass. I can't give you any current information but you should start by finding the weed beds in 10-20 feet. If you can locate a hole in the weed bed, with the weeds all around it. Work it thoroughly, from top to bottom.
Make sure the weeds are alive with good color, no stink to them. If the weeds smell, keep moving.

They love Zara spooks, pop R, spinnerbait in the morning.
Then as the sun gets higher in the sky. You will have a go work the weed beds either a jig, big tube, or worm.
Not sure about the bait fish dying, maybe stop in at a bait store and ask the locals.
Good luck

Thanks Gordon,
It's nice quiet, country setting, peaceful and laid back, for now.
I just got to get time to get out on the lake more to figure out the fish.
Take care

Black Lake - it’s a private lake, about 250 acres, just down the road from White Lake. Lake Superior empties into it, and it empties into Toronto Reservoir via Black Lake Creek.

Yes I know it well. Great little lake, I like the seclusion of the location but close enough to stuff in the area.
I was originally from Woodridge then moved to Rock Hill. Just recently retired to South Carolina. I miss the clear water lakes, it is like chocolate milk down here, red clay bottoms and run off.
Keep catching them, there are some big ones in your lake

Not going to be challenging Andy any time soon. but diid manage a couple of largemouth on frogs - one about 3 1/2 pounds a week go, the other 2 lb 11 oz. yesterday. Typical frog day, though - lots of action. only the one hookup. Today caught another 3 on a watermelon/red flake craw, including a 4 lb 11 oz fatty - my best for quite a while. Pickerel were active, as usual - lots in the 17-18" range, plus a 24" bruiser yesterday. Pictures for this weekend's bass are attached. Caught the last bass right after my wife joined me in her her kayak - she was out looking for water chestnuts ( becoming a problem in our lake). So I have the selfie and the one she took.
Not going to be challenging Andy any time soon. bu... (show quote)

Hi Don, what lake are you fishing on? I loved most of my life up in Sullivan county. Keep up the good work....
Take care Aaron

Oh. No I haven't been there in a few years. I think village camp is right next door in the cove.
Good luck. I love it up there

Incredible smallmouth fishery, both lake.
I have stay at Wheaton's lodge, which is located between the two lake. It's on the shore of East Grand. Great for landlock salmon and Lakers in the spring, ice out, deeper during the rest of the year. Worth getting a guide for a day at least to learn . If you have any questions feel free to ask.
I have gone there a few times.

The bass master were there this weekend. Do yourself a favor and try to find the television broadcast in the archives. It was on FS1 live today.
They were slaying on the lake, any where from deep water, to right on shore, under docks, and on break lines. Using a lot of different techniques.
Good luck

It was early summer at night.
But if you go earlier in the year, just try closer to shore or this hump near the drop off.
Take care

There's a lot of deep water all round this hump. The top of the hump is around 10' deep. I was in a night Bass tournament, the fish were coming out of the water. I thought they were small mouth bass so I started throwing topwater plugs. But I Started catching walleye like crazy, 6--10 lbs . Didn't help with the tournament but we had a blast.

For walleye, try right in your backyard, Greenwood lake. There's a nice hump in the middle of the lake, east, west and towards the upper end of the bigger part of the lake. Get a good map of the lake to make it easy to find.. Good luck
