Going from oyster boat ramp toward barrier islands not sure where to try. Any ideas?
See Jack Brady who lives on Crumb Hill Road in Oyster. His number is (757) 331-2111. He doesn't fish much anymore but he knows the water like the back of his hand. Tell him Bob Young mentioned him.
Hi Gene, I too lived in Maryland ages ago and now live in Merced. McSwain is stocked frequently with trout which most fish for from shore. McClure is another possibility for catfish, spotted bass, and crappie though walking the banks there is tough. Eastman lake has nice catfish and large mouth bass and is somewhat easier to walk the shoreline. San Luis and the Fore bay yield stripers and catfish..Good Luck!
Well, some refer to the Eastern Shore as the eastern shore of the Delmarva peninsula. Sometime go to Oyster or Cape Charles or Eastville in Virginia, or Annapolis in Maryland or anywhere up and down the Cheseapeake bay and the striped bass is commonly referred to as rock fish. A regional term it is. T'was true sixty years ago, and it is certainly true today.
aka "rockfish" on the Eastern Shore.
