I use a $20.00 jawbone rod,both spinning & baitcaster for saltwater, they are 7ft,2piece rods,with Penn fierce 2500 & 3000 reels.have caught many stripe bass in the 28 inch range.baitcaster rod is 2 piece with Abu Garcia black max reel, braid 30lb line
